Volvic Natural Mineral Water. Deep in the heart of France is a chain of ancient volcanoes —a gigantic natural filter from which springs Volvic Water
At the base of the Puy de la Nugere, Volvic water is created by rainwater that seeps very slowly underground through porous layers of puzzolana and fissured lava down to the impermeable granite bed on the old valley bottom. The volcanic material from this volcano, over 100 meters thick, protects Volvic water and gives it it specific characteristics. During this underground filtration process, Volvic water is filtered and through contact with the rocks and minerals it imprefnates, it acquires its unique mineral composition. When it reaches the imperivious bedtock, the water slowly flows downstream where it is captured over 90 meters deep.
